In order to commemorate Mateo Kovacic's tenure at Chelsea and mark his big move to Manchester City, I was tasked in creating a farewell graphic for his social media. My approach was centered around capturing Kovacic's essence as a player, emphasising minimalistic elements like incorporating Chelsea badges as a pattern and subtle hints of blue to make the player cutouts pop against the white background. The selected imagery highlighted pivotal moments from Kovacic's Chelsea career, including his triumph in the Champions League and his wonder goal against Liverpool.
To emphasise his illustrious time at Chelsea and imbue the graphic with a personalised touch, I made the choice to showcase the various kits he wore during his years at the club, as well as the trophies he secured during that period. This approach aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia and pride among fans as they reminisce about the remarkable memories created by Mateo Kovacic during his Chelsea journey.
